Classroom support is a collaborative endeavor at the
University of Maryland. It involves campus-wide support groups,
such as the Scheduling Office, Operations and Maintenance, and the
Office of Information Technology, which manages the main Classroom
Support Office and several other support offices, as well as college and department
support units.
This two-tiered approach to support requires coordination
which is the purpose of the Classroom
Support Project (CSP). The CSP Operations Committee brings
all of these groups together to coordinate efforts and share
information. The group regularly surveys users to get suggestions
and identify areas where services can be approved. The CSP
Operations Committee is chaired by Krista
Carter who represents the Office of the Registrar. She can
respond to any questions about the CSP.
Oversight of Classrooms
The Classroom Support Project was developed by the Teaching Facilities Committee
(TFC), which is chaired by Elizabeth Beise, Associate Provost, for Academic Planning and Programs. The TFC looks at the "big picture"
issues. It develops policies, identifies priorities, provides
guidance on funding, and solicits input annually from the Deans and
other interested parties regarding future upgrade projects.
